The Inevitable

Well, I guess we knew it would happen at some point. I have HORRIBLE eyesight and while Laura's is better, it's by no means perfect. Now Garrett has glasses. He was diagnosed as being farsighted and he has a stigmatism. He primarily wears the glasses for reading and up close things like that.

The fact that he needed glasses came as a total shock to me. He's never seemed to me at least to have any trouble seeing anything while reading, doing puzzles or anything else that required up close vision. Matter of fact, the night before he got his glasses, we were reading PD Eastman's classic Go, Dog. Go! and we were on the page where all the dogs were driving in their cars and Garrett said, "The last dog is green." If you are familiar with this page, that last dog is green and it is VERY small. I guess our optometrist knows what he's talking about though.
