The kind of music I like generally doesn’t make stops in Greenville, SC (unfortunately), so I spend most of my time going to see live music driving to Charlotte, Asheville, Athens, etc. So it was quite the rare occurrence that I was able to see a second band I really like at The Handlebar within a six day span. Lucero stopped in for their first ever show in Greenville. They played an awesome set and in typical Lucero fashion conversed with the crowd throughout. I know that the owners of The Handlebar thought they were taking a bit of a risk trying to bring in a band like Lucero mid-week. I’m not sure how finances turned out for them but the are right around the stage was packed with a lot of diehard fans and the house was maybe half full. Hopefully, it was worth the risk for the owners because I’d love to be able to bring Lucero back for a second stop in Greenville. Here’s the set list from the night.
